I'm passionate about books and reading...

Duncan's Bride

Duncan's Bride - Linda Howard I couldn't wait to start reading this book!
I love Linda Howard's writing style and I love reading books with arranged marriages/Mail Order Brides. So Duncan's Bride was a win-win.

"Wanted: a wife for able-bodied rancher."

Reese Duncan has a ranch, he works sixteen hours a day and has no time to search for a wife. So he puts and ad in the local newspaper. That's how everything starts.

Reese is arrogant, stubborn, sexy and honest.

But he is not looking for love. He just wants a wife who helps him around the house and children.
His honesty was refreshing! I loved his character even if sometimes I wanted to kick him for being so stubborn.

Madelyn (Maddie) is exactly what Reese needs - even if he doesn't know this at first. She is extremely strong and she is not scared away by Reese's temper. She is full of love and slowly she manages to change Reese's trust issues.

I loved how always Maddie stood up to Reese and was not afraid to speak her mind. She is one of my favorite heroines!

“I'll tell you what's wrong!" he roared, "I'm trying to quit smoking!" Then he strode angrily to the truck, leaving her standing there.

She blinked her eyes, and slowly a smile stretched her lips. She strolled to the truck and got in. "So, are you homicidal or merely as irritable as a wounded buffalo?"

"About halfway in between," he said through clenched teeth.

"Anything I can do to help?"

His eyes were narrow and intense. "It isn't just the cigarettes. Take off your panties and lock your legs around me, and I'll show you.”

This book was everything I could ask for in a romance novel. There was no unnecessary drama, the book made me laugh, cry and swoon. I could read about these characters forever. I didn't want it to end! It was perfect!

I recommend this book to every romance lover!
