I'm passionate about books and reading...

Soulless

Soulless - Gail Carriger, Gail Carriger I wasn't really sure what to expect before picking up this book. I'm not a huge fan of steampunk but I wanted to try something different so that's how I got my hand on this novel.

Even though the writing was great and kind of "old school", it took me some time to get into it.
The first half of the book was for me quite - okay I'm gonna say it - uninteresting. I know, I know, stop throwing tomatoes on me. :) I just had a feeling nothing much was happening through the first half. I was bored and I thought everything was described in too much detail and it had too little focus on the main storyline.

But after that the story did really pick up and I enjoyed reading the characters' quirky remarks, witty dialogues and it made me even smile a few times, which is a plus.

For me what saved this book was Lord Maccon the ROMANCE! I loved the interactions and chemistry between Alexia and Lord Maccon, who was one sexy beast (no pun intended)!

I'm not sure if I will continue reading this series, maybe later sometimes (I guess I'll miss Lord Maccon at one point).
