It Happened One Wedding - Julie James One word: VAUGHN!!!!

How is it that EVERY SINGLE book by Julie James is ABSOLUTE PERFECTION?!?! I swear she could write a phone book and make even that interesting and funny. She is a genius! Genius!

As I said, I've never read a James book that was less than perfect! It Happened One Wedding is no exception. And it has the best opening scene/chapter ever! (You can read the fist chapter on Julie's webpage CLICKING HERE)

“Sidney gestured to the chair he’d just helped himself to. “What are you doing?”

He looked at her as if this was obvious. “Starting a conversation.”

“But I don’t even know you.”

“That’s why I’m starting a conversation. Let’s begin with the basics. Like your name.”

Ah, right. Sidney knew exactly what was happening here. This guy had seen her on her failed date, had obviously deduced that she was single, and now thought she was easy pickings.

“I’m not giving you my name,” she said.

“All right, then. ‘Ms. Doe,’ it is,” he said, undeterred. “Why don’t you tell me a little about yourself, Ms. Doe?”

Special Agent Vaughn Roberts we got to know a bit in Love Irresistibly already and needless to say I was the most excited to read his story! I loved his confidence and cocky attitude, which made the banters between him and Sidney even more funny.

Vaughn definitely found his match in Sidney! She is feisty, strong and doesn't put up with Vaughn's charming lines. Loved her!

This Julie James book is a tiny bit different from the previous ones in the FBI/US Attorney series, because the characters don't meet through their jobs. But their story is just as intelligent, swoony, and funny as the previous books were!

Haven't read any Julie James book yet? *looks around confused* Well, what are you waiting for? Seriously, these are my favorite contemporary adult romance novels of all time! All the books can be read as standalones, but it's so much fun to read them from #1, because the characters from previous books often make an appearance.
