I'm passionate about books and reading...

Bared to You

Bared to You - Sylvia Day Well, what can I say...

I was reluctant to read the book, because everybody compared it to Fifty Shades of Grey (which I loved btw), and they were absolutely right... the similarities are undeniable!

Let's see the story:

There is Christian Grey Gideon Cross (27), the young billionaire with god-like sexy body, controlling, dark and brooding personality, and - of course - *rolls eyes* full of inner demons...
There is Anastasia Steele Eva Tramell (24), who leaves San Diego to start a new life in Seattle New York. Eva has her own demons, she is often self-consious, and guess what.. she is clumsy. *rolles eyes*
Of course there're also the secondary characters, jealous ex-girfriends (hello Mrs. Robinson Magdalene Perez), drama and a LOT of sex.

BUT... But there is where the similarities end! I did not want to love this book. I did not want to fall for the characters... but I did! It just happened. *happy sigh*

I'm not saying the book was perfect (there were a lot of WTF moments, when I just wanted to scream "Grow up already!"), but it just ... I don't even have words... it just crawled into my heart somehow.

Eva and Gideon had an insta-attraction ...

"Inky black hair framed a breathtaking face. His bone structure would make a sculptor weep with joy, while a firmly etched mouth, a blade of a nose, and intensely blue eyes made him savagely gorgeous."

"His voice was cultured and smooth, with a rasp that made my stomach flutter. It brought sex to mind. Extraordinary sex. I thought for a moment that he might be able to make me orgasm just by talking long enough."

It was a "bit" unreal! I mean.. really?!?! They're attractive men in world, yes, but how she described Gideon, someone would think he is an alien and when he speaks, rainbows would appear. *another eye roll*

Okay, so who is Gideon? Well...

Real or not, he is HOT! Gorgeous! Sex-on-legs! He is a contol freak, but he has also a big heart and he really cares about Eva.

At the beginning I did not like him at all! He appears cold, who sees sex as a tool and doesn't care for anything else. He is blunt and talks about sex like others discuss the weather...

"Are you sleeping with anyone?"
"Why is that any business of yours?"
"Because I want to fuck you, Eva. I need to know what's standing in my way, if anything.”

I thought I will be repelled by his demeanor, but I wasn't. I know it probably wasn't meant to be funny, but I couldn't help it - every single time Gideon said "Let's discuss" I started to LAUGH!
He was like a little kid, who had denied to have some candy and he tried to get it anyway. He said things that should have been sexy, but it just made me giggle uncontrollably!

Like this:

He dropped me on my butt; then sat next to me.
"It's time to discuss what it's going to take to get you beneath me."

"What's your definition of dating?"
A frown marred the space between his brows.
"Lengthy social time spent with a woman during which we're not actively fucking."

Eva: "I told you I don't want to date and I don't. (...) But I like sex."
Gideon: "Good. Have it with me."

*LMAO*

Okay, okay, I stop! *snort laugh*

The scenes were even funnier because he says these things total seriously.
As I mentioned he has his demons, he is controlled outside but inside he can be very caring and loving. Again, comparing him to Christian Grey I found Gideon a lot less cold and he is less scared to show his emotions. He can be really romantic and he really tries to open up to Eva. It was easy for me to fall for him, especially when he shows his human side.

So prepare yourself for a lot of romance...

...and a bunch of scorching, sexy scenes!

Overall, I LOVED the book! With all it's flaws and imperfections, I really LOVED it! I couldn't put it down and started to read the second book, Reflected in You right after.
So don't hesitate, give it a try!

*****5 huge stars*****

PS: Bared to You is NOT a BDSM story! Just sayin' :D (One of the reasons I didn't pick it up sooner is that I thought it's BDSM... But it's not! It's like the softer version of FSoG. So really don't hesitate, start reading NOW!)
